Management of hemangiomas of the head and neck in children
Infantile hemangiomas (IH) of the ENT area are a specific issue due to the atypical course and more frequent complications in the region of head and neck. This affects the management of the patient with emphasis on early therapeutic intervention, which can prevent serious functional and aesthetic consequences. Propranolol is the treatment of first choice, which is currently available to patients in an oral outpatient setting. Surgical treatment, which is currently in decline, still has its place in IH treatment, whether in primary treatment or in the treatment of residues.
