Distribution of admission and discharge times for patients in intensive care
The authors set themselves the goal of evaluating the times of admissions to ICU within the framework of 24-hour daily operation and similar days of the week and to find out during which the highest frequency of admissions is. Similarly, they focused on the hours of the day and days of the week of patient discharge from the workplace. They analyzed 378 admitted patients during one year 2024 in the ICU of the authors‘ workplace. They found that the most numerous patients were admitted between 9 am and 4 pm and the termination of hospitalization was in the interval between 9 am and 2 pm. They found that in the evaluated year the most patients were admitted on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
